The Joint European Magnetic Symposia (JEMS) is the most important and comprehensive conference on Magnetism in Europe. JEMS2023 will take place from 27th August to 1st September 2023 at the Faculty of Medicine in the main campus of Universidad Complutense de Madrid, with a unique Welcome Reception taking place in a special location in the city on Sunday 27th August (more details coming soon). The campus is located at a privileged site nearby Madrid city center. IMDEA Nanoscience will be the organizing institution supported by two major universities: Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
|2007 Nobel Laureate Prof. Albert Fert (CNRS/Thales, Université Paris-Saclay, France) will open JEMS 2023 on Sunday 27th August with the Lecture:
“Orbitronics, from present to future with orbit currents induced by charge/spin currents, FMR or light for torques or TeraHz emission”
|Monday 28th August|
|“Magnetism bridging academia and industry”
Participation of young and senior scientists working in academia, research centers and industry to share their experiences and open a dialogue together with all the attendees.
|Wednesday 30th August|
|Roundtable “The role of Magnetism in the Green & Digital Transition”
Panelists from EU, Japan and Europe will discuss on the present and future role that Magnetism is playing towards a Greener Future. Challenges and opportunities open to make a difference!
|EMA Special Session|
Plenary talks by the two 2023 EMA awardees and a good opportunity to learn more on the activities developed by the European Magnetism Association (EMA).
|Thursday 31st August|
|“Women in Magnetism”
A very interactive session to look at the past, present and future of women in magnetism. Are we advancing as much as we should and what are the main barriers that women keep facing to develop their careers?
